"You can't give away chances like we did as you will get punished, which is what happened.
"We started brightly but when Preston scored it knocked the stuffing out of us. One or two of them were running on empty.
"But it is not all doom and gloom. I can't fault them for their effort and their work rate. There was a lack of quality and that is what we are trying to improve on."
