Kightlly sustained a a broken metatarsal in his left foot during the game at Wolves' Compton Park Training Ground on Tuesday and will now be forced to sit out the final six games of the season..

"I'm absolutely gutted," he told the club's official website.

"The toe's now got to be pinned and I'll have to have an operation which hopefully will be as soon as possible.

"I jumped over the keeper and just fell awkwardly when I planted my foot.

"It's the sort of challenge you go in for day-in day-out in training or in a game but yesterday just wasn't my day.

"To miss the last six games when we're in the position we are is the worst thing that could happen.

" I'll be watching and supporting as much as I can but it kills me to say that when I'm so desperate to be involved.

"Hopefully the lads can carry on and do the business, as I'm sure they can, and the next game I play will be in the Premier League."
