Kightly signs a new four year contract

Kightly has recently been constantly linked with premiership clubs every week and now that has all been put to rest now Kightly signed a new contract at Wolves.

Wolves signed Kightly in the 2006/07 season from Grays Athletic for only £20,000 and now without a doubt, Kightly is worth a lot more than that.

Kightly told the official Wolves site: "I'm really pleased that the deal has been completed. I hope it will stop all of this talk about me wanting to leave.

"I've really enjoyed myself at Wolves and I hope that has shown with the passion in my play.

"I wear the Wolves shirt with pride and will continue to do so.

"I can't wait for the season to start. We've got a good, young squad and, with a couple of additions, I don't see why we can't have a successful season.

"The club is going in the right direction. Everyone concerned with it wants to be in the Premier League and I want to be there with them."

Jez Moxey also added: "Michael has been an outstanding player both on and off the field since he joined us from Grays Athletic.

"We are delighted that he has signed a new four year contract, committing himself to Wolves for the long term.

"We expect some new signings to do likewise in the very near future as we look to build a young, settled and exciting squad for the new season."
