Job not under threat - McCarthy

"Am I feeling the pressure? It's always the same from outside," said McCarthy ahead of Wednesday's match against Liverpool at Anfield.

"I don't worry about that at all because I have a good relationship with everyone at the club."

The 51-year-old added that he has received the backing of club owner Steve Morgan and chief executive Jez Moxey.

Does McCarthy deserve to keep his job as Wolves manager?

"A huge amount of faith and trust has been placed in me - and by me in them [Morgan and Moxey]," said McCarthy, who has been at Wolves since 2006.

"That doesn't concern me at all. I just carry on and keep trying to get results.

"We are all concerned about it, of course we are. No-one is happy with the position we are in.

"But to start worrying about things I can't do anything about... that is not the case.

"I don't think I have any need to worry about that."

Meanwhile, McCarthy believes it will be difficult to attract players during the January transfer window because of the club's precarious position.

"No-one has said what money we have got," he continued. "I've always said if there are players available that we want and can attract and can get, then funds will be made available.

"It's been made even harder by the fact we are in the bottom three.

"Had we beaten Wigan on Sunday and we find ourselves out of the bottom three, we might be more of an attraction to someone to come to the club.

"It is not just as easy as saying 'we want that player, we will go and get him'.

"Whoever it is might not be available, might not want to come etc."
