The 27-year-old, who is currently on international duty in Ireland, told the club's official website: "It's my goal and I'm getting back in touch to set the record straight.
"George is taking advantage of me being out of the country and trying to claim it while I'm not around to defend my corner."
Elokobi, the surprise scorer of the first goal, is hoping the Premier League's dubious goals panel will decide in his favour.
The defender said: "It's my goal, definitely. Doyler should be unhappy because it was me who got the touch. Look at the TV pictures - it's there for all to see. We'll have to let the Premier League decide."
