Wolves' medical department head Steve Kemp told the club website: "Dave went for a re-scan, as planned, five weeks after picking up the injury.

"The results were positive and he'll now progress his rehabilitation."

Edwards has not played since Wolves' 4-0 win over Blackpool on 26 February.

Meanwhile, Stephen Hunt returned to action after nine weeks out with a calf injury in a reserve team game against Manchester City on Monday.

The match in Telford also saw Adlene Guedioura and Michael Kightly continue to build their fitness after long-term injuries.
