Duo keen to rescue Baird

Baird has surprisingly found himself frozen out of things at Fulham since the arrival of Martin Jol as manager.

The Northern Ireland international has not been involved in Fulham's opening two Premier League games and the news has alerted Premier League rivals West Brom and Wolves.

West Brom boss Roy Hodgson is a big admirer of Baird having worked with the former Southampton man during his time in charge of Craven Cottage.

Wolves chief Mick McCarthy is also weighing up a move for Baird as he sees his versatility in that he can play in defence and midfield as a key addition to his squad.

Baird, who has been a regular in the Fulham side for the past two seasons, could be tempted to move on in search of first-team football if he does not figure in Jol's plans.
