Colin Cameron cancelled out Elliott Ward's opener for Plymouth but the point did little to boost Wolves' push for the Premiership.

They have now collected only six points from their last five home games - a run that has cast a serious cloud over their play-off hopes.

But the point for the Pilgrims is another step in the right direction on the road for Tony Pulis' dogged Plymouth outfit.

It followed hard on the heels of their Boxing Day success at Cardiff City - their first away win since the opening day of the season.

But they had to ride their luck to secure a share of the spoils against Wolves who dominated proceedings for long spells only to be let down by their poor finishing and frustrated by goalkeeper Romain Larrieu.

Plymouth could even have pulled off a shock smash and grab win in the closing stages when substitute Keith Lasley hit the post from long range.

Wolves would have taken a stranglehold on the game after just two minutes if it had not been for Larrieu.

Twice in the opening two minutes he pulled off top-class saves to deny Darren Anderton and Joleon Lescott.

When Anderton did beat him, from long range in the 13th minute, the French keeper was relieved to see the ball fly to safety off the bar.

Having overcome that early storm, Plymouth stunned Wolves when Ward headed them in front against the run of play in the 22nd minute.

Goalkeeper Stefan Postma and Lescott combined to send a corner from Tony Capaldi straight up into the air and, as the ball came down, Ward forced it over the line with a close-range header.

To their credit, Wolves only took nine minutes to bounce from the shock of falling behind but there was a stroke of luck about their equaliser.

Kenny Miller surged into the area and fed Cameron who saw his shot from 16 yards deflect off Ward past Larrieu.

Wolves should then have gone on to race to victory with the domination that they enjoyed but they could not find another way past Larrieu and their frustration was summed up seven minutes into the second half.

Larrieu saved from Mark Kennedy with his legs and the rebound flew to Cameron who could only lift his shot over an empty goal.
