Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle was left with a feeling of deja vu after watching his side held to the fourth draw of his four games in charge.

Each match has followed exactly the same pattern, Wolves have fallen behind before dragging themselves back on to level terms to draw 1-1.

Brighton, who had lost seven of their previous ten games, were given the perfect start when Gary Hart fired them in front with his first goal of the season in only his second start.

Wolves' blushes were then saved by Scottish international striker Kenny Miller.

Miller, who also rescued Wolves at Cardiff on Boxing Day, earned a point with his second goal in two games - after an eight-match goal drought.

But the point was of little use to Hoddle as each game that Wolves go without a win makes their chances of qualifying for the play-offs even slimmer.

Brighton stunned a packed Molineux when Hart gave them the lead after just four minutes.

He was well placed on the goal line to force home a header from Guy Butters after a corner from Richard Carpenter.

The shock of falling behind prompted a spell of intense Wolves pressure but it took them 29 minutes to forced their way back on to level terms.

Carl Cort, Shaun Newton and Miller all went close before Wolves persistence was rewarded 12 minutes before half-time.

The impressive Seol Ki-Hyeon, who had delivered a series of crosses, started the move that led to Miller's equaliser.

He picked out Keith Andrews who released Miller with the former Rangers marksman then rifling home his shot from 12 yards past goalkeeper Michel Kuipers.

Half-time came at the wrong moment for Wolves and they were unable to maintain the momentum they had built up in the first period.

Miller and Ki-Hyeon went close with speculative shots, but when Kuipers was tested again he was more than equal to the task as Brighton held on to collect a valuable point.

He pulled off an impressive 74th minute save from a close-range shot by Colin Cameron and then turned away a 20-yard piledriver from Andrews five minutes later.
