A complete lack of effort.

What a disgraceful, inept, pathetic, shameful, embarrassing, cringeful performance that was at Goodison this afternoon.

In recent weeks we've made up for a lack of top-flight ability by being gutsy and determined but not today.

Everton must be pinching themselves that team as bad as that is in the Premiership. Well many more performances like that and we won’t be that’s for sure.

For those who don’t travel to the away games – you’re very lucky believe me!

After a bright 15 minutes a schoolboy mistake by of all people Denis Irwin handed the advantage to the hosts that we never looked even remotely like turning around.

Despite all the bad publicity people from the blue half of
Liverpool were very welcoming and helpful. To repay this hospitality Irwin decided to gift wrap an early Christmas present with a pathetic clearance that Radzinski pounced on and drove home a great shot when the defence backed off.

A great cross from Rooney to Kilbane resulted in the second. Irwin didn’t seem to really challenge for the ball perhaps he was still horrified by the mistake he made for the first goal.

Even more worrying was the way the heads completely dropped after the goal. The way all 10 outfield players walked back to the half way line to take the restart told the story that the game was over.

After that Everton could have scored a hatful except for probably a lack of self belief and some good saves by Oakes.

The second half was a formality. Blake and Miller made no difference and thankfully the referee blew for full time and we could go home and have a few beers and pretend it never happened.

The thing is that Everton weren’t, initially, that much better.

However, just like at Boro we gave the game away with poor play and a lack of effort and ability.

Gravesen must have been wearing an invisible shirt as absolutely no-one marked him throughout the 90 minutes. He had acres of space to do whatever he wanted to and pulled all the strings in midfield.

I have to name names as I’m so annoyed at wasting a Saturday afternoon. It was a game that made DIY at home seem like an attractive alternative.

Top of the pile for a total rank performance was Mark Kennedy. Less physical effort than a chess grand master. Never wanted the ball, never ran, never did anything in any of the 94 minutes. Perhaps another long-term injury would be beneficial to all at the club.

Henri Camara, what a complete clown. Full of tricks? I think he thinks he plays on the beaches of
Rio in the sand. Absolute fool, headless chicken who was a complete liability.

Denis Irwin looks like he’s now struggling at this level. However, with no replacement in the squad we are going to have to persist with the pensioner.

Nathan Blake. Made Steffan Iversen look like Ronaldo when he came on. As bad, if not worse, than the Blake of 2 years ago. Only effort was to get himself booked rather than concentrate on trying to win the ball.

Miller, so slow it’s unbelievable. Lacks any sharpness and looks really out of his depth at this level.

Newton
looked fat to me. He must have been on a pie and burger diet in the last fortnight as he seemed to be wearing Butler’s second shirt. Never tracked back didn’t look interested in doing anything apart from getting on the coach home.

Iversen I thought was unlucky to be substituted. Had no support from clown Camara and did win a few headers against Stubbs.

Rae was again unlucky to be substituted. Considering he was working on his own in the middle did what he could.

Butler
and Craddock did what they could but the pace of the Everton attack exposed their lack of pace.

The referee was a complete joke. The game was already spoilt by our lack of involvement but some of the decisions he made could fill a compilation video of the worst refereeing decisions in football history.

As you can tell I’m furious. I, like 3,000 others have been robbed by a lame bunch of non-committed, money grabbing losers who do a dis-service to the name Wolves in the footballing world.

The away end at Goodison belongs in Division 3 and we put in a performance of a team playing at that level as simple as that.

As for how bad
Leeds must be to be below us in the league must be bewildering.
