Will Muscat Be Given The Elbow?

I hate to say it but I think that Kevin Muscat could well be out the door when his contract expires this summer.

The Australian International has attracted interest frrom Scottish giants Rangers and I think he may go north of the border on a Bosman, due to what seems to be a deteriorating relationaship with Manager Dave Jones.

Muscat's blatant elbow on a Grimsby player in Saturday's miserbale 1-0 loss (the less said about that, the better) could prove to be the last straw. Muscat was not acknowledged at all by Dave Jones or his assistant John Ward, as he marched down the tunnel following his red card. Jones was clearly fuming after the game as he described Muscat's sending off as a 'disgrace' and 'inexcusable'. He did not defend his right-back in any way and even admitted that he should have been sent off earlier in the game for a similar incident. I do agree with Jones' stance, because what he did didn't help our cause and I would expect that 'Psycho' could well be hit with a fine of two-week wages.

If Muzzy does go, we would need to recruit someone pretty quick because at the moment we will have Sean Connelly taking on the likes of Ryan Giggs and Laurent Robert next season if we go up and I don't want to even imagine what that would be like.

Just on a side note, If you were at the game, I know a lot of people don't listen to certain announcements, but around ten minutes after Muscat's dismissal an announcement was made over the PA System to remove a BMW Convertable from the entrance to the player's car park. My sources have tod me that this was asked to be moved so a certain Australian footballer with the initials K.M could leave the car park.
