Wolves Thrashed 5-1 By Sporting Lisbon

Wolves kicked off their tour of Portugal with a 5-1 thrashing by Sporting Lisbon at their new training complex.

The Portuguese giants took the lead and things went worse for Wolves as Kevin Cooper wasn't very sporting (no pun intended) as he was sent-off for dissent after 19 minutes.

Shaun Newton grabbed a consolation goal for Wolves but the class between the two sides showed at the end of the day, and Wolves now prepare for the second and final game against Maritimo, hoping for a better result before flying home.

The team that started the game against Sporting Lisbon was:

Michael Oakes
Marc Edworthy
Lee Naylor
Sammy Clingan
Ludo Pollet
Paul Butler
Alex Rae
Colin Cameron
Dean Sturridge
Nathan Blake
Kevin Cooper

Just as a side note, it seems that according to the Official Wolves Site, where they have displayed the team sheet for the Lisbon game, either we have signed former Notts Forest defender Colin Cooper or they don't even know who they're own players are and have mixed him up with Kevin Cooper!
