Wolves Release Bazeley

Darren Bazeley has been released from his Wolves contract today by mutual consent.

The former Watford man’s early release from his contract comes after his scathing attack on Wolves boss Dave Jones on his own website.

Bazeley claimed it ‘suited’ Jones to claim he was still injured at the end of last season; to answer questions why the 29-year-old was not playing in the first team, despite featuring seven times in the reserves in the closing stages of Wolves failed promotion campaign.

Bazeley has never actually featured under Jones, his last appearance being in December 2000 away to Sheffield Wednesday, when John Ward was caretaker manager following the sacking of Colin Lee.

Lee, now Walsall Manager is expected to swoop for Bazeley now the right back is a free agent.
