Wolves Reach Round 5!

Last updated : 26 January 2003 By Steve Hermon
Dave Jone's men put on another excellent performance for the FA Cup and are now in the hat for the Round Five Draw on Monday lunchtime.

Wolves followed on from the epic third round battle against Premiership Newcastle, by this time defeating Promotion rivals Leicester with a resounding 4-1 win!

Scorer of the winning goal against Newcastle, George Ndah bagged a brace this time round before being replaced, due to his hamstring problem, by a sharp looking Adam Proudlock.

Scotsman Kenny Miller showed what he is capable of as he also scored twice in the game. Just on a sidenote - he may well have read through my 'Offside' article, because the former Rangers man was only caught offside twice.

The all round team performance was excellent, with some great passing play and we battled when we needed to.

The game's only bad point came when Paul Dik**** put on a great Oscar winning performance and conned the ref in to giving Leicester a penalty, which he gladly put away.

That is the second time he has done that this season, last time round was in their 1-0 win at the Walkers Stadium, but Wolves didn't let him get away with it 100%, as they just roared back and battered Leicester 4-1!

Murray still needs to practice his kicking but had a solid game otherwise. The main people to stand out were, obviously the front two, but also Paul Ince yet again and the wide men Kennedy and Newton were also solid.

Dik****'s dive was a bad point on the pitch, but my only other moan may seem controversila but I feel has to be said.................

NOW MORE ASKING FOR THE MEXICAN WAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know it is a bit of fun, but for me it brings back to many bad memories of last season when we seemed to be cruising, while beating Gillingham 2-0. We won that day, but everbody knows what happened in the end!!!!

So please - NO WAVE UNTIL WE ARE IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE!!!!!

It was only an FA Cup game, the league is more important, we should remember that. The fans should also remember that they don't have to save their cheers for games like Newcastle and Leicester. Both these games had great atmospheres, but Wimbledon was practicly dead!

Why? We should be behind the lads every week! Look what happens when we are.... 3-2 and 4-1 wins over Newcastle and Leicester respectively... but when we aren't behind them...... 1-1 draw with Wimbledon - in the most important game! Remember that.

Now a little message for the team -

Please, Please, Please take our Cup form in to the League matches.

Brighton may not be in the same class of opposition but please, play the same and we'll batter 'em!!!!!!

P.S: Liverpool at home in the fifth round would be nice!

C'mon Wolves!!!!!
