Time is ticking by..

Well M’Bemi went to PSG so we remain on 3 transfers in so far this summer.

However, having played a couple of pre-season friendlies on Monday and with another one at Swindon this evening, time is ticking by.

Tomorrow the squad, minus a few exceptions, flies out to Spain for six days.

Not exactly sure of the wisdom or timing of this trip. Unless Jones has left instructions with Moxey as to who to pursue, surely there won’t be any transfer activity in this period.

That means by the time Jones returns, we’ll be 24 days away from the start of the season. Given that the pre-season makes a big difference to a player in terms of fitness and team bonding we must be cutting it short?

In my opinion we are still 3 or 4 players short. The defence should be ok to start, the midfield probably lacks at least one more player and I think we’re all expecting a first choice centre forward to come in.

I can’t believe that Jones thinks that the squad he currently has is anywhere near strong enough to cope with the likes of even the poorer teams in the Premiership.

If we start off badly, bringing in players to a struggling team is only going to compound things.

All we can guess is that there have been a few problems that Wolves have not announced outside the club.

We were going to announce a new coach – nothing has happened.

We were too early in announcing the expectation for M’Bemi to sign – didn’t happen.

My previous week’s optimism is being replaced with concern.

Come on Jonesy and Moxey – get things moving again!
