Ticket farce for Wednesday match

Last updated : 17 April 2002 By Dave Burgess
It seems that thousands of Wolves fans are anxiously awaiting the postman every morning to see if they have the golden ticket for Hillsborough.

7,000 were allocated to us, collect the Burnley stub, post by April 5th to ensure you were definitely going.

Here we are just three postal days from turmoil and very few know that they have a ticket or not!!

The Wolves ticket-office has been, quite frankly, as disgrace all season.

Forget trying phoning or faxing. Even queueing doesn't guarantee results.

It could be that the cameras pan round to a half-empty stand containing the few lucky people who have their ticket.

Expect to see Wolves fans in every other stand as they have had little choice, either with the restrictions imposed to apply, or their application having been handled by the Wolves ticket office.

The latest is that Wednesday themselves are clamping down on 'suspect' callers that they feel might be Wolves fans trying to buy their tickets for the home end.

I'm still waiting. I applied through a friend and he is none the wiser as to what is happening. Soon there won't be enough time to post the ticket to me.

How many people face a similar fate - Wednesday ticket arriving after the event on the Monday morning ??

Sure, we are dependent on Albion slipping but if, and that's a big if, it happens then you will be able to claim 'you were there'.

Moxey - pull your finger out - either sack the people who work in the ticket office or employ more staff !!!

Do we dare imagine how badly they would respond *IF* we get promotion !!

Heaven help us all....
