Thrashed at Blackburn

Last updated : 16 August 2003 By Dave Burgess
Well we knew it would be difficult before but after our first 90 minutes of Premiership football it's going to be almost impossible.

Having just returned from Blackburn I can honestly say we were outclassed and it could have been 10 at the end as we totally lost our shape.

Blackburn were just too slick, fast and strong for us. The midfield was over run and the goals were inevitable after 5 minutes.

There are no crumbs of comfort to be offerred from this performance. Perhaps the introduction of Blake did spark a positive attacking premise but the midfield and the forwards weren't up to the task throughout the game.

MOTM was Matt Murray who kept the scoreline down to just the five.

I'm off out for some beers to recover.

Full report tomorrow with pictures..
