The fight for sixth place starts at Portman Road tonight.

Last updated : 19 February 2003 By Dave Burgess

Scenario:

Well with Reading’s surprise victory at Bramhall Lane last night, a gap is starting to appear between Wolves on 45 points and three of the play-off positions.

6 points behind Forest in 5th with a game in hand but even so – still behind.

Therefore, tonight’s tough game at Ipswich really is an important crunch game.

Ipswich, themselves in 10th place, one point behind Wolves will be looking for a crucial victory.

What about the opposition?

Now come to terms with the less than aesthetically pleasing Division 1.

Some good youngsters and a good manager, despite Ipswich fans initial reservations.

Forward line contains several danger men including Darren Ambrose, Darren Bent, Paulo Counago, Marcus Bent and Tommy Miller.

Have been beaten at home but have shored the ship up and are now more vulnerable on their travels.

3rd highest goals for at home in the Division.

Soon to follow for Wolves:

At Preston on Saturday – starting to recover from a New Year slump.

Watford at the Molineux next Tuesday – sandwiched currently between ourselves and the Tractor Boys.

Score Prediction:

Defeat !!!

Expect a really wobbly performance from everyone and a real caining.

I’m only saying this really because my predictions are usually so far off.

Ndah to score for sure, the defence to be tested, Ince to be carded and hence banned.

Watch teletext between the ManU v Juventus game for those who can’t make it!

Come on the Wolves!
