Preston - dare I predict!

Last updated : 24 September 2002 By Dave Burgess

Scenario:

Wolves find themselves down in 14th position with Preston in 12th. However, a win for Wolves would take them up to 9th.

What about the opposition?

Preston are the division’s draw specialists having amassed 6 draws from their 9 games to date. At the weekend they got their first away victory of the season at Derby and remain unbeaten away from home and are unbeaten in a sequence of 9 games.

Craig Brown has steadied the ship since David Moyes left for Everton adding resilience to the play rather than the flair employed by Moyes.

Preston have some decent forwards (Creswell, Fuller, Healy) so once again the defence will be tested.

Last season they triumphed 3-2 over the Christmas period after Wolves had won at Deepdale so they won’t be concerned about coming to Molineux.

Soon to follow:

Leicester away. A scary prospect if we don’t get a result tonight.

Score Prediction:

Well Wolves have to respond at some point and it’s more likely to be at the Molineux than in the next 2 fixtures (both away)

I think Jones will change the line-up again to get the results turned around. There are endless possibilities for change so we'll find out at 7.30 tonight.

As most of my predictions have been wrong so far I’ll keep quiet and my fingers crossed!

However, I'll be wearing my lucky white T-shirt that hasn't seen a defeat to date - so you never know!!

Come on the Wolves!
