PLAY-OFFS ARE THE BEST WAY TO GET PROMOTED ANYWAY...

After a long hard fought season Wolves finished theird and will have to fight for promotion through the lottery of the play-offs.

Wolves had a dream start to their match as they went ahead through a simple Colin Cameron finish just before the 1 minute mark. Cameron's compelling run was rewarded when he latched onto a fine Nathan Blake squared pass across ther face of goal.

Sheffield then dominated recovered after a short period of Wolves pressure and put together a number of good attacking moves. However on a number of occasions their finishing lacked the conviction and quality of the moves that created the chances. Kuqi was the main culprit for poor finishing when he fired a clear chance straight into Michael Oakes's chest.

Sheffield equalised on 43 minutes when Oakes failed to claim a Matthew Hamshaw cross which Simon Donnelly "expertly" converted. The ball agonisingly trickeled over the line after Donnelly kneed then ball.

The news of W.B.A's half time 1-0 lead appeared to have affected the Wolves players concentratrion in the opening moments of the second half when Kuqi avenged his earlier miss with a simple tap in following Paul Mclaren's neat dribbling round the stranded Oakes.

Wolves bounced back immediatley through Jolean Lescott. The young central defender scored his third of the seaon with a looping header following a superbly floated free kick from Mo Camara.

Waves of Wolves attacks followed with the news of W.B.A's imminent victory seeping through out Hilsborough. Alex Rae was unlucky when he had a goal disallowed for beiong off-side and Kevin Cooper should have done better whn he fred wide from a golden chance.

Kuqi demonstarted Sheffield Wednesday's lack of finioshing power again in the dying minutes when he failed to convert a penalty after Finn had been bundeled down by Ludovic Pollet.

Wolves now must face the Norwich in the play-offs. Delia SMith's men, who have the second best home record in the division. WOlves will have to play better then they did when the sides met earlier in the season and Wolves lost 2-0 and drew 0-0.
