New Arrivals Shine...

In a tense, nail biting game two of Wolves new signings showed that they definitely have something to offer the club. Halle proved that even at the age of 36 he is quality player. He put in a solid performance despite a horrific facial injury caused by Burnley's attacking player Moore.

Cooper showed that he is a determined player and gave as good as he got in this “spirited” match. His determination was nearly rewarded with a goal when he used his strength to win the ball on the left hand side of the field only to be prevented from shooting for a foul following a dive from the embarrassed Burnley defender.

Colin Cameron also returned to good form following his recent poor run. Maybe the arrival of a similar kind of player in Cooper has added to the competition. His efforts were rewarded twice: once with a well carved assist and once with a well took goal. There wasn't really a player who had a bad first half!

However the second period was a very different story. No players really shined as it was very much a “backs against the wall” job. Despite Ndah missing a clear opening in the dying minutes Wolves never really threatened but defended well and solidly.

One get the impression from the game that if Burnley hadn't have got the early second half goal, Wolves would have gone on to win comfortably. The early goal inspired Burnley and awakened Wolves to the fact that the game was not over and seemed to scare them and put them off attacking.

Play like we did in the first half against Manchester City for ninety minutes and we could have a very interesting game!
