Lack of creativity sees Wolves struggle.

The good news is that Wolves stretched their unbeaten run to nine matches.

The bad news is it was with a quite an awful performance where Wolves were content to hold Rotherham, but offered little threat on the home teams goal.

Wolves knew it was going to be tough and they battled and matched Rotherham physical threat.

However, once again they showed that without the forward runs of Cameron and Blake bringing the midfield into the attacking play, they pose have a limited threat going forward.

Huffing and puffing from Ince and Rae was never going to open up Rotherham with a killer pass.

Cooper, preferred to Newton, came inside all too often and Kennedy was once again in and out of the game.

With Miller and Deano up front they were never going to win anything in the air, and with such poor service, never going to use their speed to get behind the defence. The introduction of Cole served only to give him a taste of what life is like in a division below.

With all our play-off rivals winning we lost ground and slipped down to eighth.

With two home games to come the deficit can be addressed but Wolves need to find the creative edge to break down teams with another tactic other than hitting the space in the corners.

Fans are questioning whether Ince and Rae are too similar to play together in midfield.

With the availability once again of Cameron, Jones does have an alternative. However, Cameron is better suited to a central midfield role and with Cooper and Newton not looking creative enough on the right, there is still a position potentially up for grabs.

Another alternative could be to use Miller there, as he has a tendency to play deep, and start Cole and Deano up front together to go for the more traditional little and large hitman pairing.

Still we have seen the defensive pairing of Clyde and Lescott stand up to the pressure exerted on them from all recent opposition and come out on top.

Therefore, with the knowledge that we aren’t going to ship too many goals we just need to find the key to unlock defenses.

Norwich on Saturday will be a real test of the team’s credentials.

Revenge is also in the air after the play-off defeat but don’t expect many goals!

Come on the Wolves!
