Keano makes it club number 5

Robbie Keane made it club number 5 on Saturday with a beat the transfer deadline move to Spurs.

The Irish forward, who wasn't reckoned to be worth the £5.5 million Coventry paid us for him, took his total transfer fees up to a whopping £38 million!!

Not bad for a player who was only 22 in July!

Since bursting onto the domestic scene with his two goal salvo on the first day of the season at Norwich back in 97 Keano's career has been a rollercoaster.

Moves to Coventry, for just a year, followed a high profile, big money move to Inter Milan. Although he started well with the Italian giants a change of manager saw him out of favour and on his way to Leeds on loan.

Again a change in management, this time at Leeds, has seen El Tel not been able to guarantee a starting role and so he now moves to North London.

In the post match interview on Saturday, Glenn Hoddle was quick to praise Robbie and realised that he needs to stay with a club for a prolonged period so that he can get the best out of him.

Keano was very visible in the great Eire team run in the World Cup and will be hoping for a fair chance in the Premier league now.

Having been impressed by Keano's attitude and ability when Wolves were lucky enough to have him - I wish him all the best at Tottenham.

For the record these are Keano's stats to date
Wolves Played 77 (11) Goals 29
Coventry Played 33 (1) Goals 12
Inter Played 4 (2) Goals 0
Leeds Played 38 (18) Goals 10
