Jones gets the ‘vote of confidence'.

Dave Jones has been given the dreaded vote of confidence to continue the good work that has seen Wolves slide down to 15th place in Nationwide Division 1.

Ominously the vote has been given without being asked for in a time when managers are swapping seats in the style of a game of musical chairs.

The quote is:

Jez Moxey insisted: "We have every confidence in Dave Jones and the backroom team to do the jobs they do.”

Translate this into “If they don’t start performing soon, we’ll reassess the situation”.

JM "We also have every confidence in the players, they do not become bad players overnight.

Translate this into “The coaching staff has ruined the basic abilities of the players we have brought to the club”.

Considering that Ipswich sacked George Burley and the club, after Saturday’s result, is above Wolves makes for some interesting comparisons to be drawn.

As well, 3 of our next 4 matches are away from home this is only going to add yet more pressure to Jones and the Wolves team to start turning things around.

I personally don’t believe that Jones isn't under pressure as it stands, but he must be aware that the fickle nature of football management has dealt him a cruel blow before at Southampton and he needs remedial action and quickly!

The imminent return of Cameron and Kennedy could just prove to be Jones’ saviours.
