FA Cup 4th Round: Wolves vs. Leicester

Last updated : 06 January 2003 By Steve Hermon
The traditional Monday lunchtime FA Cup draw was reinstated today and I'm sure many Wolves fans were either listening or watching to see who we would play in a Fourth Round draw we never expected to be in!

Wolves were one of the later teams drew out of the hat and Manchester United and Liverpool hadn't been drawn either!

We ended up getting a home tie, which is pleasing and we got Midlands and promotion rivals Leicester City!

Not a bad draw really, especially as it is at home. Obviously the league is the priority, which will be the same for the Foxes, but I'm sure it will an interesting game as it always is between these two teams.

Cup Fever has gripped Wolverhampton following yesterday's thrilling 3-2 victory and there is no reason why we cannot progress further, but it is back to league action next Saturday as we face Walsall at the Bescott Stadium. It is important we take our performance against Newcastle in to our league form if we want to go up and face teams like Newcastle on a regular basis.

The game with Leicester, won't be selected for TV so it will be on 25th January.

Other game of interest in the Fourth Round are Giant Killers Farnbrough Town against FA Cup holders and Premiership table toppers Arsenal, Shrewsbury Town, who beat Everton in the last round, now have the chance to get another Premiership scalp as they face Chelsea at Gay Meadow and two Premiership teams will definitely go out in the next round as Manchester United play West Ham at Old Trafford and Blackburn have a home tie against the winner of the replay between Sunderland and Bolton.
