Down in style

Well we knew it was on the cards, it was just a question of when.

Still a thoroughly enjoyable second half sent all Wolves fans home with a big smile on their faces.

Sure Everton probably had three one-on-ones but we had two ourselves. We however, took the chances that mattered.

A seventh home win was just reward over the ninety minutes as we battered Everton in the second period.

However, once again we were caught napping after just three minutes with a fast attack down our left, McFadden cut the ball back and Osman just guided the ball home.

After the goal celebrations died down, I think the visiting fans went home as I didn't hear them again all game.

Rooney had two great chances but was thwarted by Jones and put the other just wide. Camara and Cort were winning balls but it wasn't happening. Cameron was Everton's best midfielder as he set up most of their attacks with time and again sloppy play.

So 1-0 at half time it wasn't the end of the world, there was some light at the end of the tunnel.

In the second half you sensed straight away that Wolves were going hell for leather for the victory. Successive corners, chances galore at both ends then a sublime finish from the hero of the moment, Camara, brought us back into the game.

Jonesy threw caution to the wind in going for the victory and it paid off with Cort's fine header past Martyn. Everton seemed to give up after that so although there was 3 minutes of added time, a heartbreaking equaliser never looked on the cards.

The fans were fanstastic. Getting behind the team the minute we conceded. Magic support in the second half that rallied the team to victory. I was aware that City were beating Newcastle but it didn't matter, the odds were long before the game, we just wanted to enjoy the performance and savour the progress the team has made and think of next season with relish.

Even another poor refereeing display couldn't stop us. Mike Riley must have Uriah Rennie's guide to the game as he was abysmal.

Fanstastic that Leicester went down before us. That'll wipe the smug grins from their faces, may it be the first of successive relegations for them. Leeds will join us shortly but if we can keep Henri and replace players in the right areas, there is real hope after today.

A fantastic afternoon of footy for a Wolves fan in glorious weather - what more can you ask for :-)
