Craddock and Camara join the party.

Well Wolves have secured the signings of Jody Craddock and Henri Camara to bring to an end a frustrating search to bring in new faces.

Both have signed long-term contracts, in contrast to the signings of Luzhny and Okoronkwo, so are seen as the future building blocks of the club, regardless of divisional status.

The Sunderland fans view of Craddock is mixed from one fan to another. Having previously partnered Butler before the latter’s transfer to the Molineux, there could be another partnership link-up at the Molineux on the cards.

Camara’s pace has been widely touted in all the media. However, there is one thing having pace and another actually using it to good effect, as we’ve seen with Ndah at times. However, the fee and the number of goals he scored last season look like a promising purchase.

Steffan Iversen is tipped to follow at some time soon as his protracted release from Spurs seems to be drawing to a conclusion.

So, if that goes through we’ll have six new players probably still two or three short of the sort of reinforcements we need but it’s better than it looked this time last week.

Given the obvious backout of Kameni, it remains to be seen whether Wolves will pursue a third goalkeeping option. Much of this will depend on Matt Murray’s fitness. I expect that if he is fit then Jones will leave things as they are with Oakes being the understudy.

Of course there is still the possibility of Dino Baggio but I doubt he’ll return from Rome to Wolverhampton for a one-year loan.

So, in my opinion, we still need another central midfielder, a playmaker and a utility player. It remains to be seen how many of these we will actually sign.

In two weeks and a day, we start in earnest.

Bring it on!
