Can we hang on for another week?

As I don't expect Man City to beat Newcastle at home on Saturday, a home win for Wolves, would keep open the possibility of us avoiding the drop albeit an unlikely outcome.

As our visitors aren't exactly setting the world on fire, there is very much the potential to make it a seventh home win this season.

Everton haven't won away since December, at Portsmouth, and are limping home in a disappointing season after the highs the experienced last campaign.

As for us, well there's really nothing to lose. We can afford to play with a bit of freedom as we more or less no our fate.

As we showed a fornight ago against Boro, this stage of the season is ideal for picking up points against unmotivated opposition.

We will also see just what Jones makes of the Rae saga. With Cameron reporting back injured from his international break, it would make sense to slot Rae back in. However, knowing Jones he'd probably bring in Silas or Gudjonnson instead of the soon departing Rae.

The rest of the team will pick itself. Possibly Clyde coming back in for Luzhny might be the only other change.

Hopefully, we'll get to see more of the exciting prospect of the Cort and Camara strike pairing.

The 2-0 defeat at Goodison Park earlier in the season was a real no-show of a performance by us. However, look at the teamsheet that day and it reveals Iversen (remember him?) replaced by Blake at half time. At least some progress has been made in terms of personal and ability.

I think that some of the 'fringe' players are playing for their future's now. I can't see any Premiership club trying to pinch some of our players in the summer. Therefore, players like Ganea, Okoronkwo and even Miller could be off before we start again in the Nationwide.

After the early promise shown by Ganea, Jones has decided he's not got what it takes.

As for Miller, he's been a massive disappointment for me this season. At best next season, he'll be third choice striker. I hope Jones doesn't try and play him out on the right again as he can't hack it. As for if we can justify a £3m signing on the bench remains to be seen. As to if anyone would want to buy him, and if so, for how much again is unlikely.

I'd like to see Isaac given another year's contract as I reckon he could be a rock with Super Jo (if he ever returns) with Butts as cover. Sorry Jody, nice bloke but too slow and prone to mistakes, Smallsal could beckon for you.

Anyway back to the game tomorrow, I reckon a 2-1 win, City getting at best a draw, and the unlikeliest relegation escape act ever still a mathematical possibility.

Enjoy the game!
