A frenzy of activity.

We had nothing for weeks and then like Batman – kapow! Wolves explode into a flurry of activity that grabs all the sports headlines across the Internet.

Two defenders on board so far, John Ward sacked, a new coach to be announced and a third signing imminent – that’s more like it!

First we got the ‘galloping horse’ in my opinion, despite his age, a good solid signing. Will provide Premiership experience and the ability to fill in at
centre back or right back.

Secondly this morning, Isaac Okoronkwo, takes a while to get the hang of spelling it, from out of the blue. A centre back to fill in for ‘Super’ Jo Lescott whilst he recovers from surgery and may even ultimately replace Paul Butler.

We saw the end of John Ward as well. Probably on the cards towards the end of last season when he and Terry Connor swapped roles. I expect Stuart Gray to fill his shoes. Having worked with Jones before and in the Premiership he will offer Jonesy some loyalty.

Tomorrow’s signing, rumoured to be Ray Parlour coming to join us from down the M1. Also been linked with a 20-year old starlet in France of Cameroon nationality.

It’s an encouraging start in my books. We still need strengthening in midfield and on the right flank as well as possibly a Premiership class forward.

However, in comparison to our relegated near
neighbours, we seem to have gone straight for the Birmingham City route.

Biggest impression is that they’ve only gone on one-year contracts for these two players. An intelligent move as we have get out clauses without breaking the bank.

If Okoronkwo makes the grade he’ll stay on longer.

At last some management sense from Jez Moxey showing how his predecessors got it so wrong.

We now need to shift Roussel for a decent price and keep some money in the piggy bank for use through the season when we see how good the existing personnel are.

However, we are finally starting to make that big transition between first division and Premiership.

Keep it coming boys!
