Should Gobern prove his fitness then a loan deal with The Dons is a possibility.
"He's training with MK Dons for a few days," Wolves boss Mick McCarthy told the Express & Star.
"Paul Lambert rang me from Colchester about him and Roberto di Matteo rang me from MK Dons.
"Colchester were happy for him to go there, but MK Dons were training on Saturday and Sunday and he wanted to go there.
"It's just to see whether he's fit enough for them to take."
