What lies for Wolves after relegation

Relegation Heartache

Wolverhampton Wanderers at the start of the season looked set to secure a third successive season in the Premier league. As the season unravelled so did the team and the loss of Mick McCarthy along with injuries meant that Wolves were relegated back to the Championship.

As a fan the only positive that can be looked upon is cheaper ticket prices but apart from that it is all pretty much doom and gloom. The black country derby will have to be postponed for at least a season, the ground redevelopment has been put on hold and the club will sell our few prized assets. The most disappointing aspect from a fans point of view is if the club fail to regain promotion immediately it can be a lengthy stay in the second division. The likes of Derby County, Middlesbrough and Leeds United have all been sat in the Championship for many years now and haven?t really pushed for promotion.

Fortunately, the club only has a select few which other teams would want in their squads so Wolves will have a relatively strong squad to compete with next season. Providing the club can cling on to their star players I think the very least we can expect as fans is to see Wolves in the top six.
