The under-pressure Wolves boss said that he could see the players were clearly intent on gaining a result at The Molineux on Tuesday night.

"I drove to the ground and saw billboards saying it was D-Day for me, but we worked the ball well and there were a lot of good performances," he said after the game.

"It was all about three points tonight and we did well from start to finish. We were up for it and well in control of the game.

"The only way the players are going to get confidence is by winning games. I can't inject it into them."
