Miller, who is currently on international duty with Scotland was the subject of a rejected transfer bid from Sunderland last week and the Black Cats have returned with an improved offer for the transfer-listed 25-year-old striker.

"We received a second offer but it fell way short of our valuation of the player and we communicated this to Sunderland," chief executive Jez Moxey told Wolves' official website.

"The manager would be keen to keep Kenny for next season and unless a suitable bid is received, we are happy for him to stay and play for us next term."
