Kevin Cooper today signed a four-year contract with Wolves and described the move 'like a dream.'

Cooper, who played under Dave Jones at Stockport revealed that for him Wolves were the only team he could leave Wimbledon for. He said: "Dave Jones was a major factor in me coming to Wolves rather than Albion. Both are massive clubs but I've worked with Dave before and won promotion at Stockport with him." He added: "Being offered a chance to play for Wolves, in a great stadium with great fans is like a dream."

Dave Jones described the player as being "a good player - neat and tidy, a good crosser of the ball and a good finisher." Wolves fans will probably not know much about the former Derby man, but will be encouraged by Jones' praise.

The midfielder has been signed for £1 million and goes straight into the squad to face Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.

Wolves are also on the look out for a loan defender, after an offer for John Curtis was rejected by Blackburn. Chief Executive Jez Moxey has revealed they are looking at signing another former Derby player, Leicester's Jacob Laursen. Wolves are looking to secure the Dane's services until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, the promotion race has hotted up after West Brom's 4-1 win against Crewe, which mirrors our win against the Railway Men in February, has moved our rivals just three points behind us.

Let's hope that as well beating Albion to the signing of Cooper we can also keep our automatic promtion place and beat West Brom in the race for the Premiership.
