Wolves enquired into the availability of the Northern Ireland striker but were told by the Clarets that the 19-year-old is not for sale.

"Mick McCarthy called me and he enquired about Kyle, although there were no bids made," Burnley boss Steve Cotterill told the Burnley Express newspaper.

"It didn't take me long to say we didn't want Kyle to go anywhere."

"Their chief executive Jez Moxey then spoke to our chairman and that was rebuffed. We wouldn't want to sell Kyle."
