Can We Still Do It?

I apologise for not writing enough articles lately but to be quite honest I have been too saddened by our fading promotion hopes to actually write something.

I have tried to be positive but that doesn't last long. In a way we still should be, because it is in our own hands. if we win our last three games then it doesn't matter what the stripy lot down the road do, unless they really stuff the teams they face.

Our run-in is tougher but still trying to be positive, I would like to think that Rotherham can do us a favour and at least grab a point at the Hawthorns on Saturday and an Ade Akinbiyi hat-trick on the last day of the season would be nice. That is an outrageous thought but nobody expected Iwan Roberts to grab three goals against our rivals after he was on a massive goal drought while at Wolves, so don't rule it out!

Looking on the downside as many Wolves fans are, our form is poor and our confidence is low. It seems important players like Butler and Muscat have lost their bottle by getting sent off recently and the team is missing important players like Kennedy. Gunnar Halle had a good first half against Burnley but like practicly the whole team on Monday, the Norwegian was out-classed. We also face the prospect of missing Alex Rae for two games if he gets booked in one of our remaining games.

If we play like we did in the first half against Burnley in our remaining games then there is no reason that we should lose any of our remaining games. But if we play like we did in that second half, with no ideas and a sloppy defence then we face the play-offs!

Manchester City proved that they are ready for the Premiership, so were we, but then something went wrong. I have no idea what it is, it is pretty unexplainable how we have gone from certainties for promotion to a dog-fight with a bitter rivals.

Maybe this is some deal that Jez Moxey has made with ITV Digital, with ITV asking us to make the run-in more dramatic and then maybe they will consider paying the rest of the TV money they owe!

I won't be going to the game as I would like to leave my face intact and without a brick mark on it, so I will settle for watching it on TV. I will hopefully be going to a friend's house because I know if I go to the pub there will be some cocky Albion fans there and that could get as violent as what may happen at the New Den.

It all rests on this game. If we lose then I think we are facing the play-offs. On a positive note, if that were to happen, maybe it will be third time lucky?

I'll leave that for you to decide. I Hope you all enjoy the game.
