Wolves v Foxes in cup showdown.

Last updated : 24 January 2003 By Dave Burgess

Scenario:

Hopefully we’ll see the magic of the cup return to the Molineux in front of a full-house.

The Newcastle match seems a distant video memory after last weekend’s dismal display against Wimbledon.

However, if we can beat Leicester tomorrow it’s got to be a great psychological boost for the remainder of the promotion run in.

Also, we owe Leicester from our 1-0 defeat at the awful new Walkers Crisp packet stadium earlier in the season. Paul ‘dive at any opportunity’ Dickov robbed us of a point in an otherwise dire encounter.

What about the opposition?

2nd in the table, hopefully to be caught by someone else, unfortunately going to be saved by Loinaker’s consortium.

Some good seasoned professionals, mixed in with some thugs. Shame that no-one has bought Izzet before the transfer window closes.

Beatable, as we saw from the surprise 3-2 reverse at Gillingham last Saturday, and also showing the inconsistency you’d associate with us.

Danger men are Dickov and Deane.

A tough team to play against.

Soon to follow for Wolves:

Two away games at relegation threatened Sheffield Wednesday and Brighton could prove tricky ties back in the business of getting out of the division.

Score Prediction:

Well if we play like we did last Saturday then it will be defeat.

However, no-one knows which Wolves will turn up tomorrow so anything is possible.

Hopefully, not a draw though. A result either way so that we don’t get sucked into a fixture backlog and possibly yet more injuries.

Doubts over Ndah and Cooper mentioned today could see Proudlock start.

Feel it’s going to be a low scoring game possibly 1-0 to whom I’m not going to commit myself to!

A repeat of the David Kelly winner in the tie in 1995 would be very welcome though!

Come on the Wolves!
