Albion fail to take advantage

Ok, so Man City won at Birmingham but we already know that they are going up.

However, it was the draw just down the road at The Hawthorns that was of more interest to Wolves fans.

Albion now trail Wolves by 9 points having played a game more than the Gold and Black army.

Looking at the Watford fixture you would have put it down as a home-banker.
However, a poor performance was salvaged by a late goal by Dichio. Albion's lack of quality forwards and build up play was again to prove their sticking point once Watford had done the unthinkable and scored.

So tonight we go to the City Ground and face a tricky fixture.

Forest's recent home record isn't good but only 3 teams out of 18 have beaten them on their own patch in the league this season. They have drawn 8 of these matches so they, like Albion, seem to suffer from a lack of goalscoring ability.

Wolves have reportedly nearly sold out of their ticket allocation - of around 4,000 - so there is going to be a big gate and big expectancy come 7.45 this evening.

However, if we don't manage to equal the club record number of consecutive wins (8) then it's not the end of the world. We can afford to draw and the status quo will be maintained but vitally one more game will have gone for anyone to catch us.

I expect Cameron to return at the expense of Andrews who admitted feeling tired after the full match against Gillingham on Saturday. I think a couple of the players could do with a rest but with the fixtures coming thick and fast I think that only injury will prevent Dave Jones from fielding his strongest 11 every game until the end of the season.

I'll be at Forest tonight; I’m leaving work at 4.30 to travel down from South Manchester.

I don’t like making predictions – all I can say to fellow Wolves fans is to make the same noise as Saturday for the boys and hopefully this will lift us to another important victory.

See you all there.
